Join Akiko and Ken Freeman for a special evening at Ozumo on San Francisco’s Embarcadero, where traditional Japanese cuisine meets contemporary artistry. Executive Chef Dominica Di Maggio and Sushi Chef Eddy Wong will present a multi-course menu featuring dishes such as tuna tartare in a sesame cone, sashimi and nigiri selections, Dungeness crab handrolls, braised Berkshire pork belly, and American Wagyu, followed by a strawberry and matcha dessert.

Hosted alongside Sommelier and Managing Partner Marcus Garcia, each course will be thoughtfully paired with Freeman wines, including the 2022 Yu-ki Estate Sparkling Brut Rosé, 2024 Ryo-Fu Chardonnay and Riesling, and the 2021 Gloria Estate and Yu-Ki Estate Pinot Noirs.

Guests will arrive at 6:00 PM, with dinner beginning promptly at 6:30 PM. Seating will be communal to encourage a shared and convivial experience. Credit cards will be processed the evening of the event.

Please join us Thursday, November 13 (6-8 p.m.) for an intimate evening celebrating the art of pairing sushi and wine. This special dinner brings together Chef Jake Rand of Sushi Koshō and Winemaker Akiko Freeman of Freeman Winery for a six-course experience where creativity meets craftsmanship.

Chef Jake and his team will prepare a progressive sushi menu featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients, while Akiko pours a curated selection of Freeman’s elegant, balanced wines — each chosen to complement and elevate the flavors on the plate.

Freeman wines are shaped by Akiko’s Japanese heritage and her devotion to harmony, expression, and restraint. The result is a style that finds beauty in balance and inspiration in nature — the perfect counterpart to Koshō’s refined yet playful approach to modern Japanese cuisine.

Please join the Freeman team on October 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., for a format tasting of our 2018 Yu-Ki Estate Pinot Noir and small bite pairings. Four different formats—375ml, 750ml, 1.5L, and 3.0L bottlings—will be compared side by side. 

Bites will include:

  •   Local mushroom soup w/chive oil
  •   Homemade  pork rillettes on crostini w/ pickled grapes and pickled onions 
  •   Truffled potatoes boccocini (mini double baked potatoes w/chives, creme fraîche and smoked gouda)
  •   Boudin blanc Wellington w/ whole grain mustard sauce and microgreen (Boudin blanc coins in puff pastry)
  •   Flourless chocolate bites w/ raspberry 

This intimate tasting is sure to be both enlightening and educational. It will be a sit-down event in the cave and is limited to 34 guests. The cost is $150 per person / $100 per person for Friends of Freeman club members.

These events will take place both inside our cave and outside at our Gloria Estate Vineyard in our beautiful picnic/lawn area.

Tickets are $75 per person and $40 for members. Ticket price Includes a tasting of at least 6 wines and will include a library wine or two poured from a magnum, a light lunch, and music. Additional wines will be available for purchase with no corkage fee. Event Times are from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Space is limited so please make sure to get your tickets soon and make note of the date you will be attending.
